Investigación sobre Villa Crespo
Recomendados por Jobien Hakking, agregada Cultural de la Embajada de Holanda, hemos recibido la siguiente solicitud:
From march the 9th till march the 14th we are going to visit Buenos Aires to study some facets of migration. We are a group of planning students, manicuplity workers, some employers of housing tenures and some experts on the field of planning and migration. The trip is supervised by Luuk Boelens, a professor from the university in Utrecht.
In our little subgroup we are focusing on Villa Crespo. We are aware that this used to be a big Jewisch neighbourhood, but that Jews are moving away (although we don't have any statistics). We want to find out what the Jews who make economic career are doing. Do they try to make a housing career within the neighbourhood or are they moving away to another district? If so, we want to find out their motives and find out what this mean for their social networks (espically with their ties with Villa Crespo)?
I know it is short time, but I hope that you could help us. Mayby there is some data available of this neighbourhood, or some studies related to the topic. We also would like to speak some representatives (synagogue, social clubs, working associations or a large employer, housing tenure) of the groups of research. Do you think that this possible and do you know some contacts? We're really hoping that you can help us.
Kind regards, Wander van Beek
